Lost and Found!!!

Last night we had my nieces spend the night with us, Danielle, Ali, and Emily. They are such sweet girls, and we really enjoy having them over. Aunt Cici gets "girl time" in and Uncle D gets to bother the snot out of them. We all had a great time. Yesterday Danielle made a "rocket ship" out of blankets and Ethan's little tent. They all dressed up and pretended to go to moon and different planets. Ethan eats up the time he has with the girls. His imagination soars! The rocket ship also turned into a bears den. They had fun. I enjoyed watching very much.

Well, last night we were trying to get the air mattress ready for the girls. Grandma brought over hers and it didn't have a pump already attached so we were looking for our little balloon pump or anything that would help. The boys love to blow up balloons and our balloon pump often is missing. We couldn't find it anywhere.

Well about a month ago we had lost one of Ryan's beloved blankies and also haven't been able to find it anywhere. For those of you who know Ryan, he takes them everywhere. He has been okay without the two, I just like having two in case we "misplace" one. Anyway, I was looking for the balloon pump in our room and thought maybe it gotten under our bed. I looked under there and could not believe my eyes!!! There it was all along under our noses! Ryan's blankie was found! I ran out of our room so happy, and said Ryan look what I found!!! He grabbed it and snuggled. It was so cute. He was so happy. Mommy was too! So thankfully, the girls came and spent the night, because Lord knows when I would have looked under there otherwise. God does answer prayers in time!

We never found the balloon pump, but found another pump and eventually the girls had something to sleep on. We all slept so good last night. Ryan with his lost blankie and me with no more worries about the blankie!

Ryan's Day!

Today at 6:27 this morning Ryan turned 2!!! I take a picture every year at the time they were born. As you can see in the picture Ryan was just so proud of the "Woody" doll he got for his birthday. We went to Chicfila for lunch and the boys had a great time. So far he has had a great birthday!

Happy Birthday Ryan!

Tomorrow, July 26, 2008 our little Ryan will be two years old! It is so hard to believe! He already has such a funny sense of humor and makes us laugh. He loves to play rough, and occasionally you can get a snuggle out of him. We are so blessed to have such wonderful little guys. They both fill the lives of everyone around them with so much joy. I am so thankful for them.

Daddy has to work tomorrow so we celebrated his birthday yesterday. We made a birthday breakfast for him and he really enjoyed it!

Happy Birthday Ryan!!!

Prayer

Today has been an eventful day. I had an unusually busy day at work, and received not so good news when I got home.

I usually get off at 2:30 pm, but didn't leave until 5:15! But I was there, I think, to witness a miracle. My patient had a procedure that involved his brain today, and already had a history of stroke, so when his wife called me into the room today my heart dropped. He had no use of his left side and was mumbling. I had to call a stroke code and we got him directly to the bed. We laid him flat in bed and within 5 min. he was coherent and his strength returned! When it was all happening all I could think about was that he was bleeding somewhere and I couldn't do anything about it. Somebody else can though!! Earlier in the day he and his wife where telling me how they where missionaries to Africa years ago!!! I really believe it was a miracle. On the tests they took after the episode he had NO signs of bleeding!

My grandmother recently had surgery for cancer of the uterus, and when I got home my mom said they received bad news today. Her cancer had metastasized to her lymph nodes. I was in shock, but after having had witnessed what I did earlier that day I was comforted. Even though we really have no control over things that happen in our day, or over sickness, He still has control over it! I 'm so grateful I don't have to carry the worry. I know my grandmother will be okay. I am so grateful for all your prayers, and I know my grandparents are too!

My First Post

Welcome all to our Family Blog! I finally decided to go ahead and make a blog for our family and friends to enjoy updated happenings in our home. I'm glad I did. I really have enjoyed getting this together, and hope you enjoy all the updates.

When I was trying to think of a name for the blog I put all of our initials together and got DSER, so I added our family member that often gets forgotten lately and came up with DSERT! (Ty was very happy to help!) It fits well I think. Dessert is something you look forward too, and it is definitely fun. Although life does have some not so fun times I try to enjoy life and find something in my day to look forward to. For DeWayne and I it is being together and being with our boys. Life is so new with them. We treasure each others company.

Hope you like your "D.S.E.R.T."!
