Bye, Bye Beloved Paci!!!

My baby gave his paci up today!!! He really loved the pac, and loves his blankies even more. I just couldn't keep up with both anymore, 27 months is long enough! I found the last 4 paci's today, cut them and showed Ryan that they broke. He said "Broke?", in his adorably cute voice, and I said "Yeah, you better throw them away". He walked over and tossed them!!! He did great too. He of course asked for paci, I reminded him of what happend and he was happy with just blankie! I don't have the heart to take away his precious snuggly. I'm just happy I don't have to spend any more evenings searching for those priceless plastic things! Potty Training is next on my agenda. At least he's got the hang of that so far!

"Noodle Nose"

Funny story about Ethan...

Yesterday after lunch I picked the boys up at Gee's house. They were having such a good time when I pulled up they both cried and said
"I don't want to go home yet"! Makes me feel real good! : [

Anyway, I got them home and laid Ryan down. I have been struggling with Ethan to get him to take a nap, and lately he hasn't been cooperative. So I told him he could lay on the couch and read some books. He kept getting up, and I kept telling him to lay down. I was very frustrated.

One time he got up and started complaining that his nose hurt. I kept telling him to lay down, he kept complaining. Finally I told him to go get a tissue and blow his nose. By this time I could tell his nose really was hurting and it wasn't just an excuse. I told him to bring me the tissue! I blew one side... nothing. I blew the other side and a great deal came out. I thought, Lord that was a lot of snot! I looked in the tissue and it was a spaghetti noodle!!! I said how did that get in your nose? I realized he had been trying to tell me something that happened at lunch and I was not paying attention because it was nap time! I have certain rules and nap time/rest time is a MUST!!!

Apparently he had inhaled this noodle and it got stuck in his nose. He didn't decide to start complaining about it though, until about 2 hours later! Nap time. After the fiasco, I asked him how many he had up there, and I thought "noodle nose" was a cute nick name. He didn't think so...

Anyway, he was STILL complaining about his nose, so I told him to lay down and maybe it will feel better. He said, of course, that "it would hurt worse if I lay down"??? I don't understand sometimes. : ) Maybe next time he will eat his noodles more slowly!

Fishing!

Yesterday we got to enjoy the beautiful day at the park. My little brother, T.J., made Ethan a fishing pole, and has been wanting to take him fishing. T.J. is responsible for helping Ethan catch his first fish a couple of months ago, and since then Ethan has been asking to go. I was going to send all of the guys out for a guys day, but it was such a beautiful day I didn't want to miss out!

It was an amazing day. So pretty and really good weather! Ethan and Ryan were so eager to catch a fish, but unfortunately the fish were not so eager. Ethan waited so patiently. Ryan threw in some popcorn, of which the birds loved! Ethan decided that it was taking too long so DeWayne took him down a ways and they played. Me and T.J. stayed and tried to catch something.

Low and Behold I got a bite and caught a small blue gill. I knew that DeWayne and the boys were a ways away, and I knew if I didn't let T.J. see it that no one would believe me, so I got T.J. and showed him and then we let it back in the water.

We decided to go down where DeWayne and the boys were for some shade. Of course being the kind sister that I am, I had to flaunt it in my fishing fanatic brother's face that I was the only one to have caught one so far. He became extremely competitive, wonder why?

Anyway, Ethan wasn't too happy that I didn't keep the fish out of the water so he could see it. It didn't matter that the fish needed water. None of them liked the fact that I was the only one to have caught one. I don't see what the big deal is, maybe I'm just a better fisher woman? : )

The excitement quickly faded when Ethan and Ryan discovered that since we weren't getting any more bits, we could use the worms for more than just fishing. They are very cool things to play with! They enjoyed exploring.

In the end we had a wonderful day and I enjoyed myself immensely, seeings as I was still the only one who had caught a fish. Just think, if I wouldn't have come I wouldn't have had the opportunity to... well, be proud of myself!!!

Our Weekend!

We have had such a busy weekend, but we did enjoy ourselves. On Friday we met up with our friends at Big Water, then headed to our house and made pumpkin shirts. They turned out so cute! Even Cayden got in on the action!

We met up later with all of our families and took some pumpkin patch pictures! We got some really cute pictures. I always love pumpkin pictures. It makes me feel like we are actually in fall. In Florida we don't get many signs. The pictures always turn out good too!

Then on Saturday Ethan had another soccer game. We have been letting the kids take turns being goalie, so Ethan's turn was this week. He kept putting his fingers in the net and getting them tangled. I got on to him a couple of times about it, but of course he didn't listen. So one time the ball came to him and he had his fingers tied up and the ball came right into the goal. He couldn't get his fingers out in time. The ball happened to bounce off his shin guards, and he was so proud that he "blocked" the ball with his shin guards. Not to mention he was entirely inside the goal. He said did they still get a goal? I said of course they did, you where inside it when it bounced off you! It was so funny! Everyone wants to be goalie!

Even Ryan enjoys his time at the games. Grandma Collins, Gee and Papa Larson came out this week to cheer Ethan on and to keep Ryan busy!

We were busy, but had a great weekend. The weather was terrific too!

Cousins

Last week when Cayden came over Ethan and Ryan sat down to watch a video. Ethan asked where Cayden was and I said he is over there sleeping in his seat. Next thing I know, Ethan has drug Cayden over by them so "He can watch the video too". I assume Cayden can see through his eye lids, as he was asleep. : )

This week was no different. They thoroughly enjoy Cayden and today they fought over who was going to be able to hold him first. I got some beautiful smiles too! He loves Aunt Cici! ; ) Ryan saw big brother ask to hold Cayden and he was persistent on getting his chance too! Too Cute!

Our Week!

Tuesday we got back from a mini vacation to the beach. We all had such a wonderful time. My favorite vacation is to the beach and my wonderful husband decided to set the whole thing up. We stayed for two nights and had 3 beautiful days. It was overcast but didn't rain. None of us got burned either, which made it great! Ethan and Ryan had a blast! Everytime we opened the door from the hotel to the beach Ethan RAN! They are their mother's children! When I was little some of my favorite memories are from the beach! It was a great vacation!
