Fishing!

Yesterday we got to enjoy the beautiful day at the park. My little brother, T.J., made Ethan a fishing pole, and has been wanting to take him fishing. T.J. is responsible for helping Ethan catch his first fish a couple of months ago, and since then Ethan has been asking to go. I was going to send all of the guys out for a guys day, but it was such a beautiful day I didn't want to miss out!

It was an amazing day. So pretty and really good weather! Ethan and Ryan were so eager to catch a fish, but unfortunately the fish were not so eager. Ethan waited so patiently. Ryan threw in some popcorn, of which the birds loved! Ethan decided that it was taking too long so DeWayne took him down a ways and they played. Me and T.J. stayed and tried to catch something.

Low and Behold I got a bite and caught a small blue gill. I knew that DeWayne and the boys were a ways away, and I knew if I didn't let T.J. see it that no one would believe me, so I got T.J. and showed him and then we let it back in the water.

We decided to go down where DeWayne and the boys were for some shade. Of course being the kind sister that I am, I had to flaunt it in my fishing fanatic brother's face that I was the only one to have caught one so far. He became extremely competitive, wonder why?

Anyway, Ethan wasn't too happy that I didn't keep the fish out of the water so he could see it. It didn't matter that the fish needed water. None of them liked the fact that I was the only one to have caught one. I don't see what the big deal is, maybe I'm just a better fisher woman? : )

The excitement quickly faded when Ethan and Ryan discovered that since we weren't getting any more bits, we could use the worms for more than just fishing. They are very cool things to play with! They enjoyed exploring.

In the end we had a wonderful day and I enjoyed myself immensely, seeings as I was still the only one who had caught a fish. Just think, if I wouldn't have come I wouldn't have had the opportunity to... well, be proud of myself!!!
